Misfortunate Travelers for Chris Ryniak & Jonathan Bergeron
Bigshot Toyworks has recently begun producing high-quality gallery multiples as an extension of our numerous forays in the designer toy market. While working the some of the same artists, gallery multiples tend to be static figures with far greater detail, and made of materials like resin or bronze. Made in limited numbers, gallery multiples are timed to coincide with an artists' show, and are produced specifically for the gallery.

The "Misfortunate Travelers" statue was produced for Yves Laroche Galerie d'Art in Montreal, to debut at the "Gardens of Misfortune" two-man show with Chris Ryniak and Jonathan Bergeron. Standing just over 7" tall and made from solid resin, the statue features a base created by Bergeron, with a small creature resting on top created by Ryniak. Also included is a limited edition letterpress print of the line art for the figure. The statue was digitally sculpted by Bigshot's Scott Wetterschneider from a sketch by the two artists, and Bigshot handled production and project management.

The "Misfortunate Travelers" statue is currently available only direct from Yves Laroche Galerie d'Art, although a second colorway of the statue will be offered in 2010 to a wider release.
