Sink or Swim
Sink or Swim is a site-specific installation, which addressed the apparent divide between RISD faculty and administration at the time of its display, the message being that each faction could choose to sink into general antagonism, or to swim toward a better future for the school. The installation utilized the central Providence canal as a canvas, and could be seen from administrative offices, student housing, and academic classrooms alike. All letters are approximately 2 feet in height, and are made of pink foam, which are primed and spray painted to look like life preservers. Project was done in collaboration with Robin Davis.
