My Electronic Illustration class was given the opportunity to have a competition to design our department's holiday card commemorating the school's 100 years (even if that didn't happen in 2011 but 2012). I decided I wanted to go for a mute, wintery palette, that would give an elegance to the holiday season. I wanted it to be a card like you'd find in the MET's holiday catalog. I decided I also wanted to try to make the piece look like cut paper, but without having to slave with bristol board and an xacto. I feel I achieved exactly the look I wanted, but sadly it wasn't the look for the department.
