Howl
Sequential Narrative / Information Design

The project represents an investigation into a sequential narrative. The narrative theme was continued from a previous project which was based on film media, but this development of the design focuses on information design. The study of a sequential narrative required me to explore the role that images and words play in the communication of an idea.

I needed to decode the narrative, Allen Ginsberg’s poem ‘Howl’, and employ a range of strategies to create ideas and innovative concepts. The narrative required me to engage an audience and visualise my idea with professional standards.

The target audience was aimed at modern society who may, or may not be familiar to the poem. The posters would visualise the poem through a modern design, celebrate it’s 50th anniversary, and attract existing and possibly a new audience to read the poem.
