Mobile Web Application Case Study for Restaurante Nacional.
Restaurante Nacional - Mobile Web Application
Restaurante Nacional website was converted to Drupal 7 CMS from just bare PHP with no framework or CMS, on March 2012 improving the administrative content management system. The content is displayed on the mobile application using JSON requests through a public API rest server developed with Drupal Services Module. The website uses Mobile Tools and Browscap to detect the mobile device and redirect to the mobile web application developed with jQuery Mobile and HTML5.
About Page for both interfaces.
This is a list of all dishes published in the restaurant website. However there is an internal filter which let's some of the dishes be only published specifically to the website, mobile application or both.
The mobile application follows the same theming patterns as the website. Mobile is no longer viewed as a limitation but rather a situation where you want to minimize the user input to give them what they're looking for right away. We tried to achieve that in the contact page by avoiding contact forms and long text. If the device supports geolocation the user will be able to get the directions to the restaurant.
