Dime Box Comics #1
Classic Public Domain Superheroes From the 1940's and 1950's
Dime Box Comics is a collection of original stories using characters from various companies in the 1940's and 1950's that are now public domain. For this project I served as Editor. Publisher, Letterer, Illustrator, and Printer. Like a lot of my projects I did whatever was needed in order to have it completed for the 2012 Boston Comic Convention. Below are samples from the story that I did all of the pencils, inks, tones, lettering, and everything on starring a colorful character named  Sub Saunders.

In order to complete this project I had to coordinate with other artists as well as complete my own work. The Boston Comic Con was a fantastic experience, and this newest publication was well received.
This is the cover that I did the illustration and graphic design on. The types are varied and altered in order to emulate the comics closer to the period from when the characters first appeared. The central figure is the original Daredevil.
These are the first four of nine pages that I did the full illustrations, lettering, writing, and everything on. I tried to emulate the style of older comic pages, but also tried to make them accessible to young readers. Comics today are very different than what they were, and I didn't want the book to be exclusively for older readers.
I used this as a promotional image to try to generate interest in the project. I colored it entirely with Prismacolor Markers.
