I worked on this project in 2005 for the dance school I was then associated with. I poured much love (and hours) into these figures back then: The idea and shapes started as blue inked scribbling on a lunch napkin that I scanned and scaled, reworking curves and shapes, the female from a sharp bob cut to her tied back waves. The male figure leaned down and spiked brown hair went to a slicker style and platinum locks. The bursts representes stage performance, the colors, latin heat. The Convention has evolved over the years however the icon is still used on the Convention's apparel, DVD packaging and facebook site.
