I had to design a fruit bowl from a flat piece of metal by plasma cutting and bending it. I created the design in AutoCad, then transfered it to a program to have it plasma cut from a 4 foot by 4 foot sheet of metal. I had to create dashed lines across the section of the metal that would be bent to create a 3D shape. Once plasma cut, I had to sand off the left over metal pieces on the bowl with an electric metal sander, then bend the bowl using various tools. Once bent, the bowl was sand blasted and powder coated.
