This is a 2nd year live uni project competition. The brief was to design a compilation book of old student work, commemorating the end of Graphic Information Design and welcoming a new course, Graphic Communication Design. My outcome reflects Graphic Information Design through use of clean, clear typefaces and layout. The name of the book was a play on the cliche of "the end" typically being at the back of the book however in this case, as it celebrates the end of this era, I placed this phrase on the front cover- The back of the book has the phrase"new beginning" on it, representing the start of the new course. As my target audience are predominantly graphic designers who are usually visually learners, I have decided to make the structure of the book visible from the outside- pages which present ex-student work have folded corners, clearly displaying the books three part structure. I hand bound the book for the final prototype.
