To comment... or not
This news clip provides insight into my capabilities as a media spokesperson.
I was contacted by the Chronicle regarding the Texas Department of Insurance order to pay overdue claims. Some organizations would choose the "no comment" route for any potentially damaging story. By commenting we:
1. Told our story.
2. Acknowledged the issue (We have nothing to hide.).
3. Showed we were on top of the situation:
     a. We knew what caused it.
     b. We fixed it.
     c. Proactively began making payments months before being ordered to do  so.
