This is a sculpture I created in my Design 2 (3D Design) class while attending Truman State University. The assignment was to create a sculpture out of a found object without using paint or other additives (besides glue) to enhance your design. My found object was a ceiling fan and I turned it into a peacock. The base/feet of the peacock is made from the center of the ceiling fan and the body was created using the glass from the lights on the fan. I broke the glass to give a feather-like look on the body and to shape the head. The larger feathers were made from the fan blades which I carved myself and then added wire to give more of the feathery, peacock design look. Overall, this is one of my personal favorites :)
