Autonomous Underwater Vehicle.

This project was done as a team with 4 team members including me.
Team Members are as follows:
1)Vrushank Timbadia.
2)Jimit Mehta.
3)Tony Thomas.
4)Devansh Sheth.
My Role:
Being good with Cad and Solidworks Modeling, the designing of models and sketches were done by me. The initial prototyping was also my responsibility including fabrication of certain parts.
Designing an underwater vehicle requires the understanding of many aspects of the underwater environment. A vehicle underwater faces forces from all directions. It’s the buoyant force that acts on the body resulting in its motion underwater. The body shape should be designed in a manner that it cuts the water and drag force is reduced to its minimum.
To start the initial design a specified geometry had to be considered. After having the idea of the underwater environment, a basic structure of the AUV was decided. From the various shapes considered, a bullet shape was chosen as mentioned before.
Concept and understanding of buoyancy and drag forces were considered in the design. The initial diagram and concept thought about are as follows.
