“Rhino my China!”This is more acomment on neocolonialism and China's (And the rest of the worlds)insatiable appetite for Africa's minerals, timber and oil.
China is shipping in cheap plastic toysand clothing on the same ships they are shipping out there loot. Theyare killing off much of the local manufacturing and clothingindustries by flooding the markets with there cheaply made clothesand curios.
But China is no worse than any colonialpower now or in the past. Powerful South Korean multinationals arebuying up millions of hectares of prime agricultural land from poordeveloping countries throughout Africa and Asia to supplement thereown long term food supplies.
At least the Chinese are buildingroads, railways, dams, hotels and government buildings in many of thecountries they are “looting”. (Even if it is only to help runthere mines and transport there goods out of Africa)
So, at the end of the day, the killingof Rhinos, for there horns “healing” properties, seems only likethe tip of the ice-berg of a much larger problem that is looming inAfrica.
