Draft & Draft Service is a company from Shikoku, Japan, that works with decoration and cleaning. It was brought to life by its two presidents, who both carry out various roles within the company, in their respective fields of expertise.

In order to express the identity of the company, we have drawn attention to the Japanese notion of "Ibushigin". Unmaintained silver products will get dirty and blacken, but when well looked after, they will sparkle with a sharp color. In Japan, we call that color "Ibushigin". The term is also used to describe skilled craftsmanship or reserved beauty.

Using this Ibushigin in our color palette, we have expressed an unassertive beauty preserved through decoration and cleaning. For our typeface, we wished to harmonize with the neutral color palette, so used a font between serif and sans-serif, Optima.

The icon symbolizing the two presidents, taken from the initials of the company name, makes it possible to develop the company's logo type as the basis of a uniform identity. The line successfully functioning within the whole system, separates the space, and emphasizes the "choice" impression from which the name derives.

Draft & Draft Serviceは日本、四国で美装、清掃事業を手がける企業である。この企業は二人の経営者からなり、双方の企業が多様な事業を手がけつつ各々の得意分野を担当する。

この企業のアイデンティティを表現するため「いぶし銀」という日本特有の概念に注目した。手入れを怠った銀製品はすぐに汚れて黒ずむが、手入れを怠らないと渋みのある色に輝き出す。日本ではその様な色のことを「いぶし銀」と言う。熟練の職人技や控えめな美について「いぶし銀」という言葉が使われる。

カラーパレットにこの「いぶし銀」を使い、美装や清掃によって保たれる、主張しない美を表現した。タイプフェイスにはニュートラルなカラーパレットとの調和を求め、セリフ体とサンセリフ体の間にある形状のオプティマを使用した。

社名の頭文字から取られた、二人の経営者を象徴するアイコンは、この企業のロゴタイプを同一のアイデンティティの基に展開することを可能にする。システム全体で効果的に機能するラインは、空間を間仕切り、社名の由来である「選抜」という印象を強調する。
