The customer asked us a complete redesign of their official website, together with a massive improvement of their database and their content strategy.
We decided to make the website a fashionable showcase of their expertise and history, with a special focus on the UX and the product catalogue.

Every component of the new portal has been crafted to let the user feel at ease, according to the latest UX best practices.
Our starting point was the necessity to show in a clear and engaging way the actual extent of Zegna Baruffa’s products range, especially the latest collections. We decided to implement a solution of products showcase based on what we called “Configurator”.
It gathers the collections and lets them be sorted out by name and picture, but also by specific tag describing product properties such as the kind of fiber they’re made of and the thickness of the yarn.
In order not to affect user experience and navigation speed too much we choose a progressive loading solution for the hundreds of images we needed to show. Product presentation is simple and fun to customize, allowing the user to get quickly an idea of what he wants.
The creation of the new portal also involved a complete makeover of the original MySQL database: the simplification of the data structure now allows to gather all the datas from the last five years, without sacrificing performance.
