Fundraising on Archive.org
An overview of changes and digital assets created to aid in Archive.org's fundraising campaigns in 2015

In 2015 I worked on various projects related to donations and fundraising efforts at the Internet Archive. I worked closely with the admin team, donations team, engineers and volunteers to design and test a new donation flow for the website as well as banners, illustrations and livestream websites for the end of year donation drive.

Overall the Internet Archive saw a 72% increase in donations in 2015. I'm hopeful that the increase in usability and focus on responsive designs in my design contributions helped to aid in this banner year.

_______
Redesigning the Donation Flow for Archive.org
Creating a user friendly and mobile responsive experience

The previous Archive.org donation page did not match the updated branding and layout of Archive.org and was not mobile responsive. The goals of this redesign were to update the look and feel of the page, increase usability, make the page responsive and easier to use for small screens and users visiting the page on the go, to build in more space for copy and to also act as a first test of a new A/B testing framework built in-house.

The completed donation page was also updated to extend a warm thank you to donators as well as create a space to learn more about why patrons donated.

Holiday Fundraising
Illustrations to capture the collaborative nature of the Archive

For #GivingTuesday I designed social media cards to be used by the Archive's various accounts to encourage donations. The designs were inspired by the depth and breadth of the Archive's vast collections. Using the organization's familiar icon as a structure to bring smaller disparate objects together I designed the new marks below.
Donation Banners
Designing seamless ways to give

Working closely with the donations team I designed over a dozen new responsive banners for the winter fundraising season. The banners appeared at the top of Archive.org and were dismissable by users. Throughout the month of fundraising we A/B tested various designs including varriables such as message, message length, color and supporting graphics.
24-Hour Telethon
Supporting and celebrating volunteer efforts

Jason Scott an archivist at the Archive pulled together an amazing 24-hour telethon in support of the Archive at the end of December, 2015. Jason approached me to design and build a website for the telethon's livestream, as well as create promotional graphics and banners for the telethon.

I designed and coded the livestream site for the telethon in a busy evening surrounded by the excited flurry of volunteers who arrived at 300 Funston to make this beautiful dream a reality.

Banners went up on Archive.org to encourage patrons to donate or buy tickets and a social media card was designed for the event as well.
