Architectural Fundamentals I - Open-Air Marketplace
This studio introduced analysis as a tool for understanding relationships in buildings, degrees of enclosure, systems generation, and space making. A repetitive structural path system was created through a synthesis of 2D and 3D space design, which was then used as the master plan for the rest of the project. The goal was to design a dynamic form with a plan to section relationship, including a detailed entry condition, well articulated tower, and a topographical base. From this form a function could be assigned and thus an open-air marketplace was born.
