ERGONOMISCHER HOCKER

The ergonomic seating furniture P‘7420 was created by a fictitious co-branding of Porsche Design and the Norwegian furniture manufacturer Variér. The aim was to design a health-promoting and disease-preventing seating furniture that meets the demands of both brands.

The base is designed with two double helices and is bent out of 1.5 mm thick titanium sheet, welded and brushed. The diameter of the rotationally symmetric base tapers from the bottom up. In addition to the resilience of the material and the construction, a plate spring at the lower end of the stool functions as suspension. Due to the geometrical shape of the spring, the stool can be tilted around its axis and thus, has a positive effect on the health of the user. A cushioned seat acts as an additional ergonomic element. Like the spring, it is screwed to the base.
