"A Display of the Most Incredible Graphic Design on Earth"
The objective of this student project was to create a poster advertising the hypothetical event "A Display of the Most Incredible Graphic Design on Earth" using one of five fundamental design principles (Similarity, Continuation, Closure, Proximity, and Figure/Ground) or a combination of any two. Along with the choice of a design principle to work from, students were required to choose a designer who would be the hypothetical guest speaker at the event and incorporate inspiration from their work in the design of the poster. From the designers Gert Dumbar, Martin Venezky and Vaughan Oliver, Gert Dumbar was my final choice. Through the process of designing these posters, I used only photography, items I had at hand, and Helvetica. The final image is a personal project inspired by one of the posters using Adobe Illustrator.
