In September 2015, a few weeks after arriving in Hamburg (and after lived nearly 6 years in Poland) I started to work on a new sketchbook, but this time trying to explore images from the geography of my imagination using as a tool my aesthetic intuition and my personal experience about drawing. So, without further reference frames I started to develop this new project in which I wanted to give a pause to the way how I performed my last two sketchbooks made in Warsaw (which were based on learning anatomy from real references), just to try to make something with a more sense of freedom and expressiveness without using any reference as a way to free my mind and my emotions as I had already done years ago in another of my highlighted sketchbooks on my portfolio. The idea of creating this BESTIARY comes in play with no premeditation, it comes just from the imaginary creatures that began to appear displayed in the firts white pages of my sketchbook that caught my attention, and in response to them I chose to create a bestiary focusing my attention on bringing new forms from my imagination as if was the task of discovering of a biologist who dedicates his time to describe the new species he found in his travelings to unknown magical lands; species that are reported by means of drawings and writings. Thus, trying to be a traveler to my inner world, I began again to rediscover my own world of imagination and fantasy once again. Read Less

AN INTUITIVE JOURNEY TO THE IMAGINATION

In September 2015, a few weeks after arriving in Hamburg (and after lived nearly 6 years in Poland) I started to work on a new sketchbook, but this time trying to explore images from the geography of my imagination using as a tool my aesthetic intuition and my personal experience about drawing. So, without further reference frames I started to develop this new project in which I wanted to give a pause to the way how I performed  my last two sketchbooks made in Warsaw (which were based on learning anatomy from real references), just to try to make something with a deep sense of freedom and expressiveness without using any reference as a way to free my mind and my emotions, as I had already done years ago in another of my highlighted sketchbooks on my portfolio.

The idea of creating this BESTIARY comes in play with no premeditation, it comes just from the imaginary creatures that began to appear displayed in the first white pages of my sketchbook that caught my attention, and in response to them I chose to create a bestiary focusing my attention on bringing new forms from my mind as if was the task of discovering of a biologist who dedicates his time to describe the new species he found in his travelings to unknown magical lands; species that are reported by means of lines and writings. Thus, trying to be a traveler to my inner world, I began again to rediscover the habitat of my own imagination and fantasy once again.
