Some illustrations from a project developed at the course Making Science Visibile (Penny School of Art and Design - UofM). They include some realistic illustrations as well as random explorations.
First assignment required to depict the animal we chose at the Science Museum of Ann Arbor, only using lines and basic graphic elements. Secondly, we were asked a realistic portrait using more refined and combined drawing techniques as well as pen, erasers, razor blades, blenders, greese pencils.
Photography and X-Ray

One of the assignment required to communicate the animal we chose through photography and/or x-ray. My objective was a fictional campain about Rhinoceros Beatles unrightful sale in Japanese supermarkets. As a matter of facts, in this country they are a really common insect as well as a cheap pet, often turning into a children toy. The two posters are a reflection on two opposite messages: on one side, against this un-ethical use, and, on the other, promoting this easy-to-consume sale.
