    "#(Im)perfection" ‘perfect’ and ‘imperfect’ are terms that change throughout the ages. For this series I stole nine social media pictures from my friends that can currently be described as ‘perfect’. Each picture shows a clean face, almost no details and has a filter over it which reinforces this lack of detail. I wanted to revive these portraits by combining them with images that can currently be described as ‘imperfect’. Each imperfect picture shows a detailed body part of myself that most people would never show on the social media. Instagram filters are used to conceal our human details, our imperfections. So I thought it would be interesting to use these filters to do the exact opposite. Highlighting my imperfect body parts in such a way that they create a new, interesting whole with the original portrait. Read Less

‘perfect’ and ‘imperfect’ are terms that change throughout the ages.

For this series I stole nine social media pictures from my friends that can currently be described as ‘perfect’. Each picture shows a clean face and has a filter over it which reinforces this lack of detail.

I wanted to revive these portraits by combining them with images that can currently be described as ‘imperfect’. Each of these pictures shows a detailed body part of myself that most people rather not show on the social media.
