The easiest way to find live music in Melbourne
There are hundreds of gigs every week in Melbourne. You might end up going to one. It might be at a venue you’ve never heard of or it could turn out to be more expensive than you thought. You might even turn up to find that the genre of music is completely different to what you had been told. We all know the secret to a good night out is just knowing where to go. FOUR ONE ONE is the only app that can tell you this secret.
FOUR ONE ONE is the first live music directory in Melbourne. Users can search through events based on ‘date’, ‘location’, ‘price’ and ‘genre’ to find the perfect live gig to suit them. The minimal and responsive design helps to make the search as quick as possible whilst retrieving all the necessary information. Events can be saved to a shortlist and users will get a reminder when it’s coming up soon.
A key design consideration was the amount of information to be shown when an event is listed. A strict set of inputs were set up on the website for uploading an event to the app. These inputs control what information is to be provided.
The biggest challenge in designing the FOUR ONE ONE app was deciding on the amount of information each event would have listed. Too little information, and the user would be uninformed, but too much information and they would be overwhelmed. After multiple rounds of feedback from a variety of potential users, we were able to determine the perfect amount. The challenge we now face will be getting the app developed and the acquisition of users.
