What made me want to go around photographing strangers came about right after finals. I felt like I didn't want to photography anymore because I was so drained from learning. I've been intensely learning about fashion photography and the fashion business. The process has been very draining, so I thought I could get my inspiration back by going around photographing strangers with their passion. I wanted to take a break from fashion photography and get inspired again. 

 

 

This series of portraits took place in Kingsport TN, where I went around and photographed the locals with what they were very passionate about. I did this project in 5 days. I like the short amount of time I had because it kept me thinking and on my feet. The project was also a way for me to get back into editorial portraits since I have been learning about fashion photography for 20+ weeks and didn't have time to do simple portraiture like this. This project has inspired me take it even further and go to other small towns to do a fully planned out project. I love that photography gives me access to meet different people that are willing to let me tell their stories in a simple photograph.
