First, i started with concepts for dragon. Here are some of them.
I picked left version, with a little bit of change. This is flat silhouette made in illustrator.
I moved dragon from illustrator to photoshop for additional effects and details.
Then, i made my own letters for name of the book. Again, first in illustrator! I tried to make them similar to dragon.
Letters after photoshop. I put some chains on them, paint over them...
There's my drawing of ''Lonely mountain''. I thought that maybe dragon can surround mountain, which is basically true- he occupy mountain in story.
Here is flat version of my finished book cover. As you can see, made dragon and letters of gold, add some detail on mountain...
