Graphic animal portrait of a Syberian Husky. This peice was done in Adobe Illustrator. Tones of grey with white added gives the fure its shadows and highlights. Creating a lighter wood floor give the puppy's shadows strength while the dark background allow the white and grey tones to stand out.
Oakley Cool
I created this graphic portrait in Adobe Illustrator. I liked the effect the shades had in the image so I recreated the lighting and reflections as closely as possible. The light source was created by using lighter tones in the shirt and skin. Fading the image to the background with darker shades of brown allow for a cohesive design.
Model Status
This illustration of my cousin really shows the true beauty of design. Focusing on her soft skin tone I used multiple samples of skin color to create a more natural look. Her posture, while very sentuous, shows eleganse, grace and femininity. I used bold colors to highlight the jewelry, which help breakup the skin and hair.
I decided to show a portion of the design process for my graphic portraits. Beginning with a simple outline in Adobe Illustrator, I then create a detailed outline, which gives me the perimeters for my color placement.
This is the simple outline, which defines her body and face.
Natural Beauty
This is my first attempt at creating a graphic portrait. By using Adobe Illustrator, I created various shapes to outline her figure. Splashes of color sampled from the original image give it a realistic look. Her pose represents the shy nature of a woman, yet it embodies the strength of an African American woman.
