When creating this t-shirt design I wanted to do something in a retro 8-bit
classic video game style.  I came up with the idea that I would create pixel
art in illustrator and made the two characters after myself and a friend.

Using a grid I drew the pictures pixel by pixel using guides and then placed an old school television as a frame.
