Movie Pilot approached me to produce artworks and infographic assets for their online Disaster Movie Fanzine.
Initial sketches produced in black and white to get composition and levels down. For this part of the process I usually move onto colour sketches which were shown to the client for review.
The composition had to take into account titles users would click through to view the articles. A challenge getting this right, but great fun all the same!
Movie Pilot were keen to have elements flow over into neighbouring pieces. The Statue of Liberty torch became part of the debris in the first shot. Big Ben's debris sprinkled down into the image below. The tractor from the cow scene was incorperated into the debris with the Godzilla scene above. Even though everyone was happy with how the cover shot was looking, instead of  just focussing on the Alien ship from Independence Day, the team at Movie Pilot had a great suggestion that more monsters should be featured and broaden the topic to movie monsters in general.  A few other iconic characters are in there - take a look, and see who you can spot!
