Žiga Aljaž's profile

iTech Innovation Lab

A major German automotive company was opening a new innovation lab in China, focused on creating rapid prototypes for their IT department. I worked on the visual identity in Beijing for three months with We Impact, which was in charge of designing the whole space.

I wanted to design an identity that would reflect Chinese tradition as well as the new technological progressive spirit and created Techi - a dynamic, friendly and playful being of pure energy, based on the traditional Chinese dragon, circling in an infinite loop.
Acting as the dot of the letter 'i' in the logotype, Techi can illustrate and render different shapes and forms, reflecting the department's rapid and explorative prototyping activity.

I focused on depicting traditional, as well as innovation symbols of the Chinese culture.
The rest of the identity is simple, using bold typography and based on inverting the two main colors.
