The source of inspiration - an Arc brooch with a schematic zoomorphic cap. In the Baltic culture the grass-snake symbolizes happiness and well being. This motif would provide a positive atmosphere for the house, also, could be a protective amulet. In the forms of Arch brooch, that belonged to the Baltic nation, appeared the motif of a grass snake and a dragon, transformed and schematized. Baltic people liked and developed and after setting out these decorations in a chronological order, we would see a transformation of a realistic form to the abstract.

Therefore, the interpreted stylisation method of Baltic people is moved to a simplified and geometrical form of a knob. Contrary to the original, the oval form Arch brooch, the form of the constructed knob is abstract and fiercened. The eyes of the grass snake are extraited, this is a removed secondary zoomorphic motif.
Invokened on a ornament of a deepened stripes and lines. In the built up knob, the rhythm of a decorative lines and dictated a ductile knob and its pulling back from the doors, switch-on. This idea unanimously united the ensemble or the door knob created.

The door knob “SIGN” is minimalist, specific and not overloaded.
