Born out of the experience of extensively living far away from the his family home, Home investigates how memories of real places have slowly turned into the unreal.

 

The Artist attempts to explore the affects of being away from home long term, punctuated by short, infrequent, and sometimes intense periods back.

Memories blur into dreams, and upon returning home you have to confirm their authenticity. Each trip can mean having to learn and explore new places without roots, and re-confirm the realities of the once well known. In places that were once familiar, there is an unsettling experience of both belonging and detachment. How much is this place still relevant to me? Objects and surroundings are the same, but people have moved on. Following family to new places still gives a semblance of home, but in surroundings that are new and unknown.

Every trip is an update to the present, but also a confirmation of the past.
