BlackBox Sculpture

BlackBox project "Kvartum Mountain" was created for the Belgrade Mikser House Festival 2016 with the subject of the exhibition titled "Erasing the Past". The video also served as the commercial for voting on the Superste.net competition funded by Erste Bank for young enterprenuers.

This movie was the product of few artist from Kvartum that helped make the promo video and finish the box.

Kvartum is a group of creative people that connect work with education. Our society has given us apathy, drama, and unrealistic views that life in Serbia is terrible and impossible. The constant pressure to leave our country has made us question ourselves and critically consider if those statements have hold. Does that information from the past still stand today, and more importantly, can we change it? We came to conclusion that we want and can do something about this dire situation.

Black Box associates us on black boxes in planes, the ones we read about in newspapers that hold tragedies of past. Black Box also reminds us of magicians black boxes full of wonder and surprise. Kvartum is a group of young people who want change. Our logo and motive is that we are running away from the box, changing the thought process of the ones we love in the process and proving that we can build better today on the roots of the past. We are building a mountain, breaking down walls of apathy and past that suffocates us from young age.

In our vision, black box is the past that shuts us in walls and feeds us information that the circle is closed for our generation. Our mountain is full of positive motivation, innovation, and creativity in order to break down walls and grow. Colors and success are coming down the mountain and even reaching the roots of the past. They represent a message to our society that we can succeed in our vision and desire.
