Фрукты на столе символизируют изобилие. Некоторые, как бы разрезаны пополам. Мякоть стилизована и подчеркнуто декоративна. Фрукты равномерно расположены на поверхности невидимого овального стола, умиротворяя впечатление от картины. Мухи – подчеркивают сладость и манящий вкус фруктов. Они не доминируют и не выделяются в композиции. Их даже сначала не увидеть. Но вглядевшись, это не отталкивает от картины, а подчеркивает «изобилие» всего. Не случайно фон бумаги красный. Традиционно этот цвет радости, благополучия, страсти. Золотые чернила горят на красном, приманивая к себе.
