ALOIZAS / Alzheimer's prevention


          This project is focused on Alzheimer's disease prevention. The aim of the project is to involve the public‘s interest in this initiative, to generate and exchange ideas, using communication and all other possible tools. The object of the project is a preventive developmental game that helps to cultivate motor and mental skills and also to concentrate attention. This game is balanced for Alzheimer's patients. Graphic elements and the game concept is created after a study on Alzheimer's patients, their needs and abilities.

         The game is designed for the patients who have an easy or advanced stage of the disease. It consists of the tasks including text, colors, shapes and spatial awareness. The tasks are divided into easier and more complicated levels. Each player can choose the tasks according to his own abilities and needs. The Clock test can help to choose the correct game level. The game helps to solve life problems of Alzheimer's patients. Besides helping to develop memory, the device aims to attract the public‘s attention to this important problem.

CLOCK TEST
Patien have to draw a clock details. Every painted detail gives 1 point. 3 points - can play hard level, 2 points - hard level with other people help, 1 point - easy level

SHAPE / TO REPEAT THE MOMENTOUS/MEMORABLE SHAPE
A geometrical shape is shown on one side of the card. The patient needs to memorize it and then re- draw the shape on the other side of the same card.

SHAPE / LAY THE FIGURES TO THEIR PLACE
Various geometrical intersecting forms which need to be put in their place.

COLOUR / COLOUR RECOGNITION
The name of the colour is written on one side of the card and the colour is visually shown on the other side. A patient must read two names of the colours then turn them over and say which colour is which. A bigger amount of cards can be used overtime.

COLOUR / SAME COLOUR RELATED OBJECTS
The goal of the game is to find two same-coloured related objects from various cards which show different colours.

TEXT / TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS
Various questions about the patient are written down on the cards which help the patient to memorize facts about himself, his life and surroundings. By reading the questions a patient must answer them to himself.

TEXT / TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS IN A WRITTEN FORM
Questions are shown on the card. A patient must answer them in a written form on the other side of the card.

SURROUNDINGS / LABYRINTH
There are 5 different shapes in the labyrinth. By walking the labyrinth the patient needs to take the shapes to their places. By changing the number of figures the task can be made easier or harder.
