Willow Tree
Women's Organic Clothing Store
This portfolio features assignments from my Marketing Promotion Design and Applications course that I took during the spring of my junior year. Assignments given included new product/name & logo development; newspaper, magazine, yellow pages, direct mail and outdoor advertising space & cost constraints; and online advertising.

We were instructed to create a retail location to create advertisements for the entire semester; I created "Willow Tree," a women's clothing store that featured all-natural and organic clothing, as well as vegan shoes. The store is based in Burlington, VT and all the decor is eco-friendly. The target market is women from late teens to early forties who want to look fashionable without adding too much to their carbon footprint.
This assignment was to create a direct mail coupon for consumers on our retail location's mailing list. The criteria given was:

-Create a 1-Panel (one-sided), Premium Color, ValPak Coupon.

-Use the ValPak Submission Size Guidelines. Do either a non-bleed or bleed layout,
your choice.

-Theme of coupons will be either a Mothers’ Day or Fathers’ Day, or Spring Special offer. Include an expiration date.
This assignment was to create a direct mail over-sized postcard for current customers, letting them know about an additional store location. The criteria given was:

Design a 6x 9oversized postcard, full color on both sides to mail to your customer, vendor and prospects list, inviting them to a 1-day, Grand Opening/Open House event at your newlocation. Use any kind of enticement, offer, or special value you thinkwill work to pack the house at your event.
This is the back of the direct mail over-sized postcard from above.
This assignment was to create a billboard for our retail stores. The criteria given was:

Designa full color highway billboard (14’x48’bulletin). Just use a 1:3 height/length ratio.(simplest is to do a 3" x 9"layout). But get the proportions right – thisis not just another oversize postcard.

This layout will be for a bulletinon Route 91, with most traffic passing it at 70+ miles/hour. All you get is 3 - 4 second glance at it frommotorists, (so write your copy accordingly).

You know how we feel about rules but the standard rule for copy ona billboard is use a maximum of seven words (and that can bea lot).
