Richard Edmunds
Production design, art direction and artist
Over the years, my career path has taken me to many places, branching off here and there to see where it leads. Be it a pencil, craft knife, paintbrush, computer or a hammer, I am more than happy to use any of them - as long as I am creating something.

For the past 19 years, I have been working in stop-frame animation with two of the leading animation studios in the UK: Aardman Animations, Bristol, working on 'Timmy Time', 'Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists','Shaun the Sheep Movie', 'Early Man' and most recently, 'Shaun the Sheep - Farmageddon'. With Hot Animation, Manchester, I worked on 'Bob the Builder', 'Rubbadubbers' and other pre-school series.

Below, you will find a selection of my work from the past 10 years, since starting at Aardman Animations.

This is my original concept drawing for 'Timmy Time'- Aardman Animations, Bristol and commissioned by the BBC.
After further development from the original drawing, this is the line drawing showing the courtyard area as seen in 'Timmy Time'. Other drawings were made showing other areas of Timmy's world. From these drawings, I then worked on white 1:1 scale models and scaled technical drawings and texture/colour boards for the set builders. Copyright Aardman Animations.
