The Olive Oil Restaurant Murals

Greek American Goodness
These murals were commissioned by the owners of the Olive Oil Greek American Restaurant in the Woodlands, TX. There are two rooms in the restaurant-  a main dining area used as a performance hall every Saturday night for belly dancing, bouzouki playing, plate-smashing fun, and a more intimate bar behind three doorways. The owners wanted two ancient temples on the walls of the main dining room and paintings of the gods in the bar. The designs of Athena and Poseidon were my own concepts, done while I was living in Athens, Greece. Smaller designs were executed throughout the restaurant including a folk-art inspired decoration with the slogan "Big Fat Greek Kitchen," as chosen by the owner.
