I purchased a water color sketchbook to use as a starting base. It received a coating of brown india ink to darken

the outer skin. After drawing out the cover design, I started working on building the corner protectors. 

Corner protecters were constructed with matte board and painted gold. Details were painted on with puff paint and then antiqued.

Traced the cover design and painted gold for a foiling effect. Water color pencils were used to accent with pops of color.

Finished book prop.

Hand lettering and illustrations for video holds in post production were added to the front and back pages of the book.

I had to deconstruct the original sketch book to add more pages so to double it in thickness. All the pages received a

coffee wash for an aging effect.
