THE DEAD WOODS
The idea of this project is about Journey (10-12 images) and I have tried to create cinematic style photography which will incorporate my self created story of red riding hood along with the concept of evolution of Red Riding Hood. The Idea is to show a fairy tale like story but will represent how red riding hood as a person evolves from a princes to a red riding hood and to a Dark Gothic worrier. The emotion representation is also represented through the pictures and through colour symbolism. The idea of naive realism and cinematic style storytelling is used.
A girl by the dead wood is a story similar to a red riding hood but in a new way that is ever told as it fades away in the pages of history. Now its time to re-visit history and bring to life the story of Girl by the Dead Woods.
As a young girl, she had an ambition to become a warrior, she had a fierce attitude towards life and a mighty lion heart. She was a princess, that enjoyed all the luxuries of life. But her beloved kingdom was attacked by Vikings, and she was thrown in the dark dead lifeless jungle. Her life changed to darkness and the fire of revenge got ignited in her heart. She then evolved herself as a warrior woman in order to regain her true identity as Queen of The Dead Woods, which is now her new kingdom. In this story there is no wolf, but the concept of wolf is the hatred that resides in our heart. Also the betrayal of human kind that harm our capacity to trusts, love, believe and alter our attitudes towards life and the world. We become hard core, our hearts became frozen, and our feeling towards life died in our own self. We eventually have to burry our dead self inside the grave of our own bodies. In the end, it takes lot of time re-discover your re build the real self and to re-live.
Life is destined and follows a movement from different stages, our roles become different in this story based on the circumstances we come across. However, the courage to face them also resides within us . The world is a hard place to live and one who can live and survive through it is the discoverer of the real strong soul-our own self. The world is like a jungle “dead woods” that is dark and barren but we have to be stronger to create our own kingdom of courage, happiness and faith in this jungle-This is the whole story of ” A GIRL BY THE DEAD WOODS”
