on the cover 水の夫 : the sound of the water

I have picked a Japanese poem also called a haiku written by Matsuo Bashô. 'The Old Pond' tackles the sound a frog makes while jumping in the water. I have analysed both the content of the poem and the poem teller's voice.
As the chosen recording is Japanese I wanted my outcome to be Japanese influenced.
My final outcome is both inspired by a barrel organ score and a Japanese print (also called a kakemono).
I have looked at how japanese haiku were displayed and illustrated. Most of them were written/drawn on long Japanese scrolls (kakemono). The rolls shapes have reminded me of a barrel organ score on which musical notes are displayed through holes. I have also focused on how the poem is told because I found it very relaxing and spiritual. It sounds like a melody to me.
As I wanted to combine both the content and the way the poeme is told, my "score-kakemono book" has two uses. It appears to be the poem teller's musical variations when opened to the left whereas it is more likely a Japanese print inspiration when opened to the right. The kakemono part can be hang on the wall as a decoration (according to the Japanese tradition).
