Westin completely redesigned their hotels, inspired by Starwood's successful W brand. Westin was the first to brand its new bed and its upgraded shower. This set a new standard soon imitated by other mid-level hotel chains. The campaign of :15 tv commercials, magazine and newspaper ads lifted sales in both business and leisure travel.
