UI Design: Clickstream Data Selection Tool
A task-based online remote-testing tool, WebEffective, collects vast amount of clickstreams data (URLs panelists visited during an evaluation) per study. Due to the nature of unmoderated, remote-testing, the clickstream data often contains some data which is not relevant to research. WebEffective users have to spend good amount of time going through the data in order to derive useful insights.
The new feature eliminated the time users had to spend on cleaning and organizing the data, which allowed users focus on the analysis.
Early low fidelity mock-up: The challenge of design was how best to display the hundreds of website and sub-domains in easy to understand manner.
Design suggestions based on the task flow and some user feedback.
Final design: The order of steps is clearly indicated and displayed in logical manner. The right-side pane allows users to select sub-domains easily.
