As print-making is the one art-form that's explored by students of every discipline at the school, it seemed appropriate to feature print related typography in my design.
Incorporating these beautiful letterpress blocks, references the emphasis that Batley School of Art places on learning and considering traditional methods as well as modern, digital imaging tools.
I cleaned and sanded the blocks and photographed them myself using the School's photographic facilities.  The images were then manipulated using photoshop and the remaining information and background created digitally in Illustrator.
The outcome is a sophisticated interpretation of the brief that is intended to reflect the professional standard of work that can be seen at the show.
The design needed to be flexible in its application.
