This club chair is made from solid wooden strips which are designed in parallel lines to emphasise solidity and heaviness.

 

The inspiration for this chair is the traditional Maltese window, specifically the louvers ('persjani'). The slats used in the windows are translated into the batten strips which are used to alternatively fill the gaps within the solid frame.

 

The chair can be placed in foyers, receptions or waiting areas as it boasts aesthetical appeal and brings together sophistication and comfort that harks back to the stylish elegance of the International Style from the mid 20th century.
