based on Isaiah 40:28-31
I chose to create my own digital painting, inspired by one of my favorite verses, Isaiah 40:28-31:

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

In my painting, the tear of blood that the girl is crying is symbolic for the death and ressurection of Christ, and the fact that he is our strength and power in our most severe times of weakness. I started out with a drawing of the image, that I then scanned into Photoshop, and began to paint using a Bamboo tablet. I decided to overlay the text of the verse on top of the painting to add some depth and shape by using a low opacity eraser on the text to lighten, and even in some cases, erase, the highlighted areas in the painting.
