Japanese Alice in Wonderland

Japanese Alice in Wonderland
Story: The Re-imagined tale of Alice in Wonderland from the Mad Tea Party scene set in Japan during the cherry blossom viewing festival. The composition and color palette are inspired by Hokusai's ukiyo-e landscape wood block prints. The clothes and hairstyles of the characters are a mix of Japanese and Western influences. Each of the characters were inspired by the four symbols of the deck of cards. Alice is inspired by the spade shape, the Hare is the club, the Dormouse is the diamond and the Mad Hatter is the heart. They also wear these shapes somewhere hidden on their bodies.
