She & Him : CD Campaign

She & Him (Matt Ward and Zoey Deschanel) offer a unique sound, a pinch of the country, a dollop of folk, a nice compilation of sounds that have made them so successful. When asked to redesign an artist's CD, CD case, and inside booklet, and create a campaign item, She & Him were an obvious selcetion. I was asked to attempt new techniques and utilize eco-friendly design practices in both production and product.
Prior to this project I had little experience with using Wacom tablets, and my designs were typically very clean. I challenged myself in creating the case for the CD using hand drawn images scanned in as well as illustrations using my Wacom tablet. I chose 5 songs to create illustrations for in the CD booklet. Each illustration is a scene from around my house or memories from childhood intended to portray a whimsical sense of nostalgia.
I have also grown increasingly interested in ceramics and created corresponding mugs and a site for smart phone users to view products for sale. It was important to me to create not just the items but a practical platform for exposure to these items and a way to sell them.
