Ah, the art of illustration. An image is worth a thousand words. To build a good illustration as an effective communicative device, we need to manipulate colour, light, shadow, perspective and visual variables such as size, position, etc. All these factors, defined by how we can use light and shadow as well as perspective.  We can set the tone or the mood (might call it the flavour), and the style. With an illustration, we can go a great length to put our readers in context, helping the reader to visualize something that is not there. Here we will see some examples, where we have applied different solutions according to what was needed by the article at hand.
