For each of the Phoenix Suns’ 41 home games per season, the team gives out a game program. Hundreds of fans submit designs for the cover, and many of my designs have been chosen.

It’s difficult to decide if my favorite is the one featuring Grant Hill, or Amar’e Stoudemire.

The Free Throw featuring Grant Hill was made because Hill had recently come to the Suns to resurrect his career, as well as his legacy. Once considered a Next Michael Jordan, a series of injuries kept him on the sidelines for years. He resurrected his career with the Suns, finally putting away his now-familiar sideline suit. Hill so liked the cover, he personally signed one and sent several copies to me before I even knew the design had been accepted.
The Amar’e Stoudemire cover was one of only two picked for the historic 2010 second-round playoff sweep of their rival, the San Antonio Spurs. It is special to have a cover during the playoffs, but that particular round of the playoffs remains one of Suns fans’ favorite redeeming moments in their history.
