Miscellaneous concert photos 2007–2011.

In my middle teens I started going to a lot of concerts. Expensive for those not so deep pockets. So I saved up all of my summer allowance, met a sketchy "Craigslist" guy in a sketchy Stockholm suburb and bought his Nikon D80 in mint condition (which I later managed to smash into smithereens).

I noticed that all these people with cameras got in for free to the shows and that's the real reason why I started shooting concerts. And for the art. I freelanced a lot (emphasize "free") and I ran a metal music netzine on the side for a few years. Fun fun fun.

So hundreds, if not thousands, of concerts later, here are 15 pictures from that era. 16 pictures.

^ Arch Enemy / Stockholm 2007

One of my at the time favorite bands played with another of my favorite bands. Fun fun fun.

^ In Flames / Gothenburg 2008

Metaltown festival. Sunny summer outdoor two day festival. Loads of bands. Lots of fun.

^ Slipknot / Stockholm 2008

One of the bands that got me into metal at the age ≈ten. I heard two of their jolly tunes in my best friend's boys room. "Spit It Out" and "Wait and Bleed" a little while after they came out in 1999. Wow, that was scary stuff back then. Still one of my favorite bands.

^ Seasick Steve / Stockholm 2009

Drummers...

^ Melissa Auf der Maur / Stockholm 2010
Super intimate gig at the former buzzing venue Debaser Slussen.

^ Epica / Stockholm 2007
One of those photos that was brought to life from 33.33% calculated timing, 33.33% luck, 33.33% lightning.

^ D-A-D / Stockholm 2009
Danish rock'n'roll konger.

^ Gotthard / Stockholm 2010

Here you see the beautiful voice of the late Steve Lee.

^ Megadeth / Stockholm 2008

Far from a favorite band but close to a favorite pic.

^ Marilyn Manson / Stockholm 2007

One of my absolute first in the pit experiences.

^ Fear Factory / Stockholm 2010

Outside the pit.

^ Babylon Bombs / Stockholm 2009
I remember this night clearly. One day rock'n'roll festival in the big room of the classic venue Nalen.

^ Paradise Lost / Stockholm 2007
Doom metal pioneers.

^ Dia Psalma / Stockholm 2009
Swedish cult punk band at one of their last shows during their reunion days. They broke up but then found each other again. And again. ♥

^ Dead by April / Stockholm 2009

At a very small metalcore/punkrock festival. Not even in Stockholm. In a neighboring city. Actually some kind of farmers land to that city. Tiny ourdoor stage. 100% intimacy.

^ Alice Cooper / Stockholm 2011
The last concert I attended in the pit. After countless of concerts, one feels the urge to transition into new time killers. Graphic design studies and beer were around the corner in a small #!% town town that only showcased small town old people music on their stages. So that was it.

And yeah, this was the teenage me in the pit >

Couldn't find that sweet picture I thought of. As compensation I'd like to submit the equipment used for the shots above:
— Nikon D80
— Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 / Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 / Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8

Up for sale, by the way.
